2007 Short Birding Tours Program
Kibbutz Lotan Centre for Birdwatching operates a number of shorter tour packages
based on Half-day, One, Two and Three days birding tours.
IMPORTANT! The Short Birding Tours run parallel and are
incorporated into the 7- Day Classic Southern
Israel Birding Tour in a modular
fashion. This is done to offer maximum flexibility to those
birders with tight schedules, but who still wish to get
a taste of birding in southern Israel. For more info on dates
and seat vacancy, contact us.
Each tour will be
led by an expert field birder, each with more than 10
years of birding experience in Israel.

Each tour will
last between 5 - 6 hours and will be concentrated
at specific
migration watch points. Note that
wind and weather conditions can affect the migration
and that the guide will choose the most appropriate
watch point on each specific day. |

OVER
ONE HUNDRED SPECIES IN A DAY are possible including: Western
Reef, Heron, Greater Flamingo, Lanner and Barbary Falcons,
Sand
Partridge, White-eyed Gull, Lichtenstein's Sandgrouse,
Namaqua Dove, Little Green Bee-eater, Hoopoe Lark, Rock
Martin, Blackstart, Hooded Wheatear, Arabian Warbler, Scrub
Warbler, Arabian Babbler, Southern Grey Shrike, Tristram's
Grackle, Dead Sea Sparrow, Desert Finch, Trumpeter Finch
and House Bunting are all possible on this trip.
Note that this tour will incorporate the observation
of hundreds or thousands of migrants, and the potential
discovery of rarer species that are difficult to predict
and list here. |
