Birds of Israel by Howard Rosenstein
All digiscoping photography courtesy of Howard Rosenstein ©

Howard lives in Hofit on Nahal Alexander, Israel, and likes to take pictures, both digital and film, of the birds in his backyard and elsewhere.

The images presented here were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera and a telephoto accessory extension (X 3). Howard uses also a Nikon 35mm camera and telephoto lenses, Fuji Velvia and Sensia films. He owns a large collection of underwater images from the Red Sea and around the world.

Howard had a diving business in the Red Sea for 30 years and operated a Live Aboard diving yacht in the Seychelles for 6. Today he makes underwater camera equipment.

"I really have not done much with my bird images in Israel, I am just starting out. Most of my bird images are from the Seychelles outer islands especially Aldabra atoll (World Heritage Site), the second largest colony of sea birds in the world and home of the Flightless Rail, one of the rarest birds on the planet".
