The desert areas of southern Israel are known for their dramatic landscape and great light for photography. The relatively small areas that attract birds are usually rich and the birds are relatively easy to photograph.

On a day to day basis, spending hours in the field birding, usually involves particular areas, and when we find the birds they usually offer breathtaking views.

Itzhak Amir is a leading photographer in the field of extreme water sports, and this fast action is what he looks for when photographing nature as well. Itzhak was interested in shots of attractive birds in flight and portraits, and he got just that. We are rewarded with great photos of flying Flamingos and raptors.
