The following summary of rarity sightings in Israel covers the period 22nd January through 22nd February 2002.

Whooper Swan - 2 adults were at Revadim reservoirs, Central Israel, 26th-27th January. The sixth record for Israel and the first since 1985.

Red-breasted Goose - the individual at Bnei-Yisrael Reservoir, Golan
Heights, remained until at least 15th February.

Bateleur - 1 first-year at Bet-Guvrin, Central Israel, from 6th February intermittently until at least 14th February. The sixth record for Israel. A record from Kfar Ruppin, Bet Shean Oct. 2000 remains under review.

Red-tailed Wheatear - 1 was reported from Eilat on 21st February.
